The statue of Damdin Sükhbaatar, a prominent Mongolian political figure and pioneer of democracy, has been temporarily removed from its location in front of the Central Post Office. This relocation is due to planned demolition and reconstruction of the New Advancement Association building. The statue has been moved to outside the Palace of Democracy in the 7th district of Sukhbaatar. The Mongolian Democratic Union approved the move after consultation with authorities and the sculptor, B. Denzent, ensuring compliance with copyright laws. The association formally requested the relocation in April 2026, citing the construction needs. The move aims to secure the statue during the building’s redevelopment.
