Ratko Mladić, the Bosnian Serb general responsible for atrocities during the Bosnian War, has died at the age of 84 while serving a life sentence in The Hague. He was convicted in 2017 by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Mladić led Bosnian Serb forces during the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, the worst atrocity on European soil since World War II, where over 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were murdered.
