The Spanish government has already processed and granted half of the more than one million requests for immigrant regularization. This significant administrative move aims to integrate undocumented migrants into the legal workforce and social system. However, the process has faced potential legal scrutiny from the Supreme Court. There are indications that the court may consult the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) regarding the measure. In response, the Executive branch has defended the legality of its actions. They insist that the regularization measure applies exclusively within the national borders of Spain. Furthermore, the government clarified that this status does not grant the right to move freely across the European Union.
