A new report from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) reveals extensive damage to infrastructure in Southern Lebanon following the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The assessment, reported by AFP, indicates that 11,095 buildings have been completely destroyed. An additional 11,000+ structures have sustained partial damage. The total estimated cost of the damage to buildings is approximately $1.38 billion, equivalent to roughly 13.3 billion Norwegian kroner. The findings are based on a comparative analysis of satellite imagery from late April and October 2025. This report highlights the significant impact of the hostilities on civilian infrastructure in the region.
