The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea, Jin Young-seung, announced that six outdoor field training exercises related to the “Ulchi Freedom Shield” (UFS) – also known as “Ulji Freedom Shield” – will soon begin after being delayed due to the early conclusion of the recent joint drills. Discussions are ongoing regarding the scheduling of one remaining exercise. These exercises, previously postponed, are part of the larger South Korea-United States combined training program. The resumption signifies continued military cooperation between Seoul and Washington. The Chairman emphasized the importance of maintaining readiness and strengthening the alliance. This move comes after a recent assessment of the training schedule following the conclusion of the UFS exercise in Seoul.
