Ulaanbaatar will receive 2.7 billion won in non-reimbursable aid from South Korea to reduce traffic congestion. The funding, provided through South Korea’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, was formalized with the signing of a protocol between representatives from both countries. The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) and related organizations will collaborate on developing a master plan for Ulaanbaatar’s road and transportation development, expected to be completed by May of next year. The project aims to address traffic issues through strategic planning, prioritizing projects based on impact and feasibility, and phased implementation. City officials emphasized the importance of close collaboration and consensus-building to ensure the project’s effective execution. The master plan will focus on aligning transportation policies with current conditions and future development trends, and will serve as a crucial document for the city’s growth.
