Health authorities in Soroti City, Uganda are reporting resistance from some schools during the nationwide five-day measles-rubella vaccination campaign. The campaign, launched on Thursday and scheduled to conclude on October 5, aims to vaccinate children between nine and 59 months old. Vaccinations are being administered in schools and health facilities across the country. Officials expressed concern over the reluctance of certain schools to participate in the crucial public health initiative. This resistance could hinder efforts to achieve widespread immunization and protect children from these preventable diseases. The campaign is a nationwide effort to bolster immunity and prevent outbreaks of measles and rubella in Uganda. Further engagement with schools is planned to address concerns and ensure full participation.
