Despite improvements, most Hungarian cities still rank among the more polluted areas in Europe. However, Sopron stands out as an exception, currently possessing the cleanest air in Hungary. The air quality in other Hungarian urban centers continues to be a public health concern. Continued efforts are needed to address pollution countrywide and replicate Sopron’s success.
