Mongolia’s National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring has issued warnings for significant snowfall and blizzards across much of the country during the October 10-11 weekend. Snowfall is expected in most regions, with heavier accumulations anticipated in Bayan-Ölgii, Uvs, Khovd, and northern Zavkhan provinces on October 9-10. Further snowfall, along with rain and wet snow, is forecast to move eastward on October 10-11, impacting areas including Eastern Zavkhan, northern Govi-Altai, and most of Khövsgöl and Arkhangai provinces. Strong winds, potentially reaching 15-17 meters per second, with gusts up to 20 meters per second, are expected in the Altai Mountains and the southern slopes of Arts Bogd. Temperatures will vary, with cooler conditions (+3…+8°C) in the Uvs Lake basin and mountainous regions, and warmer temperatures (+19…+24°C) in the Orkhon-Selenga basin and southern Gobi regions.
