Slovenian researchers from the University of Nova Gorica are significantly involved in the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), a decade-long project based at the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile. The LSST aims to create an unprecedented cinematic record of the universe, providing the most detailed map to date. This ambitious survey will observe the sky over ten years, capturing a vast amount of data. The Slovenian team's contribution is crucial to the project’s success, assisting in data processing and analysis. Scientists anticipate the LSST will revolutionize our understanding of dark matter, dark energy, and the evolving universe. The project promises groundbreaking discoveries in astrophysics and cosmology.
