The People's Action Party (PAP) Seniors’ Group in Singapore is initiating a new program to train its branch volunteers to identify and support elderly citizens experiencing social isolation. The pilot program will begin in nine constituencies across Singapore, including Bedok, Kaki Bukit, and Toa Payoh Central. This initiative aims to proactively reach out to seniors who may be vulnerable and lacking social connections. Volunteers will receive training to recognize signs of isolation and learn how to offer appropriate support and assistance. The program reflects a growing concern for the well-being of the elderly population in Singapore and a commitment to fostering inclusive communities. By empowering local volunteers, the PAP Seniors’ Group hopes to expand its reach and provide crucial support to those in need within these initial constituencies. The program's success may lead to wider implementation across other areas of Singapore.
