Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Circle Line is set to expand with the opening of three new stations: Prince Edward Road, Cantonment, and Keppel. Public previews will begin on July 4th, with full passenger service commencing on July 12th. The project presented significant engineering challenges, notably the need to tunnel under existing infrastructure, including an overpass. Furthermore, construction was carefully managed to preserve a nearby historical monument. These additions aim to improve connectivity and accessibility within the city-state, easing commutes and supporting urban development. The new stations represent a substantial investment in Singapore’s public transportation network and demonstrate innovative solutions to complex construction constraints.
