The Agri-food Veterinary Services (AVS) of Singapore will undertake a review and update of its code of animal welfare. This update specifically concerns provisions for pet owners. The revision is scheduled to take place in 2027. Currently, there is a new code of animal welfare for dog trainers, and pet groomers are required to be with animals during grooming sessions. However, the broader code affecting pet owners themselves is undergoing planned revisions. The AVS aims to ensure continued high standards of animal care across Singapore through this process. Details of the specific changes to the code are yet to be released.
