A couple, Joshua Choo and Marilyn Lim, designed their four-bedroom Singapore apartment after being deeply inspired by a stay at Suiboku, a resort in Niseko, Japan. The Japanese retreat’s atmosphere of warmth, coupled with its use of raw textures and an understated aesthetic, profoundly impacted their vision for their home. They sought to replicate these qualities in their own space, moving away from conventional interior design. The couple aimed for a calming and inviting environment, mirroring the peaceful experience they had in Japan. Their design choices reflect a desire for simplicity and a connection to natural materials. The result is a uniquely personalized home showcasing the influence of their travel experience.
