Since 2020, Mozambique has seen a violent crackdown on the press, resulting in four journalists being murdered or disappearing. Further attacks and injuries occurred during the 2024 post-election crisis. Despite formal legal complaints, no perpetrators have been held accountable for these crimes. This lack of justice has allowed a systemic culture of intimidation to reach its peak. The situation is detailed in the sixth installment of the "Mozambique Exposed" investigation. This collaborative project was coordinated by the Forbidden Stories consortium and included contributions from RFI.
