A shorter route for horses transporting tourists to Morskie Oko (Eye of Water) in the Tatra Mountains will be tested starting September 1st. This pilot program aims to improve animal welfare by reducing the distance the horses must travel. The current route is considered long and demanding for the animals. The new, abbreviated path seeks to alleviate the physical strain on the horses while still providing transport access to this popular destination. Authorities hope the trial will demonstrate the viability of the adjusted route. This change responds to concerns regarding the well-being of the horses utilized for tourism in the Tatra National Park. The implementation will be monitored closely to assess its impact on both animal health and tourist accessibility.
