The Dutch meteorological institute KNMI has issued an orange weather warning for the Limburg province, anticipating severe thunderstorms, hail, and strong wind gusts until 3:00 AM. While Limburg faces the highest alert level, yellow warnings are in effect for Zeeland, North Brabant, and Gelderland due to the possibility of thunderstorms. The south and southeast of the Netherlands may experience localized disruptions from heavy rainfall, hail, and strong winds. Simultaneously, a heatwave continues, with temperatures expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Recent storms on Friday evening and night caused significant damage, including over 350 fallen trees in Groningen and tragically, one fatality in Emmen when a tree fell on a car. Flooding also occurred in Mander, damaging a restaurant during a wedding celebration, and the KNMI recorded an exceptionally high 188,000 lightning strikes.
