A severe hailstorm and accompanying thunderstorms caused significant damage to crops in the Amyntaio region of Northern Greece. Vineyards, peach trees, and cherry orchards were particularly affected by the inclement weather. The storm also resulted in structural damage, specifically the collapse of a perimeter fence surrounding a sports field in Vegora. This fallen fence subsequently landed on and damaged agricultural machinery located on an adjacent property. Authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage to agricultural land and property. No injuries have been reported at this time. The incident highlights the vulnerability of agricultural areas to extreme weather events.
