The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed significant destruction in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region. Severe flooding has led to the collapse of more than 24 buildings in the towns of Samreboi and Asankragwa. The disaster was triggered by heavy rainfall, which caused the Samre and Tano rivers to overflow their banks. These surging waters inundated several local communities and resulted in widespread displacement. NADMO officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage and the needs of the affected populations. The situation highlights the vulnerability of these riverside settlements to extreme weather events. Efforts are underway to manage the aftermath of the flooding.
