Italian police have arrested seven individuals accused of sabotaging railway infrastructure during the February Winter Olympics. The suspects are charged with membership in a militant anarchist group and undermining the democratic order. On February 14, the group used homemade explosives to attack a high-speed line between Rome and Florence, causing significant delays and €455,000 in damages. A simultaneous attack occurred between Rome and Naples, both of which were claimed on a dedicated website. Authorities believe the attacks were linked to the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina. The group also sought to draw attention to the strict imprisonment of prominent anarchist Alfredo Cospito. While the suspects are based in Rome, they maintained ties with anarchist networks in Bologna, Milan, and Naples.
