Following the verdict in the case concerning the parents of the perpetrator of the Belgrade school shooting at “Vladislav Ribnikar” elementary school, defense attorney Irina Borović announced plans to appeal. Borović expressed dissatisfaction with the court’s decision, stating it failed to provide explanations regarding the motives behind the perpetrator’s actions. The lawyer emphasized the ongoing need to understand why K.K. committed the mass shooting. She and her team believe the verdict does not deliver sufficient accountability or closure for the victims’ families. The legal team intends to challenge the ruling and continue pursuing answers about the circumstances leading to the tragedy. The case has drawn significant public attention in Serbia, focusing on issues of parental responsibility and societal factors contributing to youth violence. Further legal proceedings are anticipated as the appeal process unfolds.
