The CEO of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, announced to the Serbian parliament on Wednesday a three-month extension of the country’s gas supply agreement with Russia. This extension ensures continued gas deliveries to Serbia, a nation heavily reliant on Russian energy imports. Bajatovic, who is also a Member of Parliament, did not disclose specific details of the renewed arrangement. The announcement comes as European nations grapple with energy security concerns following disruptions caused by the war in Ukraine. Serbia has been seeking to diversify its energy sources, but Russia remains a crucial supplier. This temporary extension provides a buffer while Serbia continues to explore alternative options and negotiate long-term energy solutions. The deal’s terms, including pricing, were not immediately available.
