Serbia has recently purchased 30 new Spanish trains to expand the BG voz network. These additions are part of a larger procurement strategy that includes Chinese trains expected to arrive before the EXPO exhibition. The overall expansion plan is projected to continue through 2031. However, the acquisition raises critical concerns regarding the availability of qualified personnel. There is a significant question as to whether there are enough train drivers to operate the new fleet. Without sufficient staffing, the new rolling stock may remain underutilized. The government must now address the gap between infrastructure growth and human resources.
