The Seoul metropolitan government’s Gwanak District has opened “Ato,” a dining facility and community hub specifically designed for young, single-person households. Located on the sixth floor of the Gwanak Youth Center, the initiative is a collaboration between the Gwanak District Office and the Gwanak Volunteer Center. “Ato” aims to provide affordable meals alongside counseling and social networking opportunities for young residents. The facility seeks to combat social isolation and offer a supportive environment for this demographic. District officials hope the center will foster a sense of community and address the needs of the growing number of single-person households in the area. The project is spearheaded by Gwanak District Mayor Park Jun-hee.
