The Seongdong District in Seoul has initiated a new program providing in-home bathing services for elderly and severely disabled residents. This initiative aims to address hygiene needs within vulnerable populations who may struggle with independent bathing. The program, dubbed “Seongdong-type Integrated Care Visiting Bath Support,” will offer regular bathing assistance in participants’ homes. Seongdong District officials state the service is designed to fill gaps in existing care provisions and improve the quality of life for recipients. Funding will support the provision of necessary equipment and personnel for the service. The district anticipates the program will significantly benefit those facing challenges with personal hygiene due to age or disability, promoting dignity and wellbeing.
