Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, 23, is nearing a season-long loan move to AS Monaco. The Senegalese international has reportedly agreed personal terms with Monaco and spoken positively with manager Filipe Luís. Reduced playing opportunities at Tottenham, following the signings of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, have prompted the potential move. Sarr was left out of Tottenham’s opening Premier League squad citing a hamstring injury. Monaco is looking to bolster its midfield, potentially using funds from the possible sale of Lamine Camara to facilitate Sarr’s arrival. Sarr is familiar with French football having previously played for FC Metz, making him a potentially seamless addition to the Monaco squad.
