Senegalese religious singer Ass Dione, currently detained on charges including criminal association, appeared in court Thursday at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court. He was brought from Rebeuss prison to be confronted with three individuals identified as co-defendants: Doudou Ndiaye, Mohamed Al Amine Diop, and Abdourahmane Diarra Ndiaye, a SENELEC employee. The confrontation and subsequent questioning of all four men took place before the examining magistrate. The case originated following the arrest of Pape Cheikh Diallo and a subsequent request by prosecutor Saliou Dicko to open a judicial investigation in February. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter, which has garnered significant public attention, to determine further actions. All four individuals were returned to detention following the court appearance.
