A 36-year-old fisherman in Senegal is awaiting a July 2nd verdict after being accused of a brutal attack on his mother and niece. The man, identified as A. Mbaye, allegedly broke into his mother’s home in Nianing on May 30th while intoxicated and armed with a machete. He is accused of attempting to sexually assault both his 67-year-old mother and his 15-year-old niece before threatening to kill them. The mother testified in court, recounting the terrifying ordeal and revealing a history of prior violence. Alerted by their screams, neighbors were not able to intervene before the suspect fled the scene. Mbaye is currently in custody, and the case has deeply shocked the local community.
