Senegal’s Council of Ministers, convened under President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, focused on economic revitalization, youth employment, and advancements in the digital sector. The President urged stronger public-private dialogue and faster resolution of domestic debt, alongside the completion of legislation promoting economic patriotism. A presidential investment council is planned to further these goals. Youth employment was specifically highlighted as a national priority, with a multi-sector emergency plan in development to boost job skills and opportunities nationwide. The government also intends to regulate industrial fishing, support artisanal fisheries, and expand aquaculture, while addressing digital security and expanding internet access through a “New Deal Technologique.” Finally, the council approved legislation regarding border demarcation with Guinea and the protection of critical information infrastructure.
