Eight individuals were arrested and brought before the prosecutor after a police operation in the Soumbédioune Cemetery in Senegal. The Medina police station acted on multiple complaints regarding vandalism, theft, and violence occurring within the cemetery grounds. A nighttime raid was conducted on August 24th at 11 PM, leading to the arrest of five Senegalese, one Nigerien, and two Guinean nationals. The suspects claimed they were simply spending the night at the cemetery, a claim investigators found unconvincing. They are currently facing charges related to the desecration of graves and reported thefts. The investigation is ongoing as authorities address concerns about security at the Soumbédioune Cemetery.
