A new study by Senegal’s regulatory authorities reveals a significant 10.9% decrease in mobile service prices. The reduction is attributed to increased competition among operators and a shift towards data-focused offerings. Orange Senegal saw the largest price drop in the first quarter of 2026, with a 17.2% decrease, particularly impacting data-heavy users with reductions ranging from 19.2% to 44.4%. Even voice-centric users experienced a 7.4% price decrease. Yas Senegal also reported a price decline of 1.8% quarterly, driven by high-data consumers. Analysts cite increased data allowances in new plans as a key factor in the overall price reduction, with Orange’s prices down 24.5% year-over-year and Yas’ down 3.8%.
