A 19-year-old woman, Ndèye Bigué Sène, was found murdered in Senegal after failing her baccalaureate exam. Her marabout, Babacar Ndiaye, has confessed to her stabbing and strangulation, claiming he was instructed by another, unnamed marabout. This alleged second marabout promised Ndiaye wealth and glory in exchange for the sacrifice. The victim’s body was discovered with signs of violence, and Ndiaye was quickly identified as a suspect after inconsistencies appeared in his statements, particularly regarding phone calls made to the victim. Investigators found no record of the calls Ndiaye claimed to have made. The alleged motive stems from a macabre ritual intended to bring Ndiaye prosperity, utilizing disturbing elements as described in reports.
