A human trafficking network has been uncovered in Senegal, with two young Nigerian women rescued in the village of Sambrabougou. The women were reportedly transported by Eunice Attah, known as Mirabel, with the intention of forced prostitution. Mirabel allegedly purchased the victims – F. Innocente for 500,000 FCFA and Annie Yusuf for 300,000 FCFA – from individuals in Nigeria and Benin. The trafficker then compelled the women to repay 1.5 million FCFA each to cover alleged travel expenses. Mirabel has been detained and handed over to the Kédougou prosecutor, while the rescued women are under the care of the NGO "La Lumière." This case highlights the ongoing issue of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in the region.
