Senegal’s football federation is grappling with significant visa delays, preventing numerous officials from accompanying the national team to Canada for a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying match. Despite applying well in advance, a large number of visa applications were denied or not processed in time. Attempts to secure visas through the United States proved largely unsuccessful. Only a small number of executive committee members – Moussa Mbaye, Mouhamed Samb, and Aïcha Henriette Ndiaye – have received the necessary travel authorization. Several collaborators of the federation president, including Abdoulaye Fofana Seck, Joseph Sambou, and Adama Gueye, were granted visas, but many others were denied. This last-minute disruption impacts the logistical support for the national team, forcing many officials to follow the competition remotely. The team is still scheduled to depart for Toronto on Wednesday evening.
