Senegal’s anti-corruption agency, OFNAC, is intensifying its enforcement of asset declaration laws, with a firm deadline of July 31st for compliance. OFNAC President Moustapha Ka announced that individuals required to declare their assets who fail to do so will face legal sanctions. This move comes as part of a broader effort to promote transparency and accountability within the government and public sector. The agency has granted a final extension to allow individuals to meet the legal requirements, emphasizing the deadline is non-negotiable and will be applied universally, regardless of position or status. OFNAC is currently compiling a list of those subject to the declaration requirement and plans to publicly name those who remain non-compliant. The agency is urging individuals to submit “sincere and exhaustive” declarations to ensure effective implementation of the law and bolster public trust.
