Negotiations over Senegal’s national football coach, Pape Thiaw’s, salary have escalated, involving both the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and the Ministry of Sports. Discussions began after the Africa Cup of Nations, with Thiaw initially requesting a raise to 50 million CFA francs. The FSF countered with an offer of 18 million CFA francs, which Thiaw deemed inadequate, prompting the involvement of the ministry. A compromise of 30 million CFA francs was reportedly reached between Thiaw and ministry officials. However, the agreement is facing internal opposition within the FSF, with some officials favoring the original 18 million franc offer. Concerns have also been raised regarding Thiaw’s decision to negotiate directly with the minister, bypassing the federation.
