A 58-year-old school janitor from Zoetermeer faces seven years in prison and mandatory psychiatric treatment following allegations of child abuse and possession of child pornography. Oskar van der V., employed at a local primary school from 2019 to 2025, is accused of sexually abusing two girls within a school storage room and filming the acts. Prosecutors presented evidence of nineteen reports filed against him spanning from November 2019 to June 2024, alongside the discovery of nearly 200,000 images depicting child sexual abuse. The prosecution emphasized the breach of trust inherent in the case, highlighting the need for children’s safety with responsible adults. Van der V. had previously undergone voluntary treatment for a paraphilic disorder between 2018 and 2021, but continued to work at the school despite concerns raised by his psychologist. He denied the allegations, claiming he did not act on his impulses, a claim the court found unconvincing based on encrypted chat logs.
