PT Semen Jawa, a part of Siam Cement Group (SCG), is strengthening the implementation of a circular economy by utilizing refuse-derived fuel (RDF) as an alternative fuel source from waste. This initiative aims to reduce reliance on coal. The company is targeting to have alternative fuels comprise over 70 percent of its total fuel consumption. This move towards RDF signifies SCG’s commitment to sustainable practices and reducing its environmental impact. The project is being implemented in Jakarta, Indonesia. By utilizing waste as a fuel source, PT Semen Jawa aims to contribute to a more sustainable and circular economy in Indonesia. This transition supports Indonesia’s environmental goals and promotes responsible waste management.
