Former Senegalese President Macky Sall is consolidating his position within the Alliance for the Republic (APR) party, now in opposition, through a series of strategic appointments. Operating from Morocco following the end of his twelve-year term, Sall is restructuring his political team and reinforcing key areas of influence. The appointments focus on strengthening the party’s executive secretariat. Aminata Angélique Manga will lead microfinance and social inclusion efforts, while Antoine Mbengue will oversee legal affairs. Abdou Salam Guèye will coordinate a council of elders, and Mamadou Ba will focus on conflict mediation. Other appointments include Mamadou Mbengue as vice-president of the elected officials chamber, Cheikh Mbacké Ndiaye in logistics, and Doura Baldé in public relations. These moves signal Sall’s continued active role in Senegalese politics despite no longer being in office.
