A leader from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has stated that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) logo should be reserved exclusively for Sabah-based political parties. LDP vice-president David Ong emphasized that GRS was initially formed to champion the rights of Sabah and its people. He believes maintaining this focus requires restricting logo usage to parties originating from the state. This decision effectively excludes national coalitions, such as Pakatan Harapan (PH), from utilizing the GRS branding. Ong’s statement underscores a desire to preserve GRS’s identity as a distinctly Sabah-centric political force. The move signals a potential positioning strategy ahead of upcoming elections, reinforcing GRS’s local credentials. This limitation on logo use aims to clearly differentiate GRS from broader national political alliances.
