Russia’s domestically produced MC-21 passenger airliner has successfully completed long-range flight tests, verifying its ability to travel up to 3,800 kilometers. The tests simulated a full passenger load of 175 individuals, representing typical operational conditions. This milestone is a crucial step towards the aircraft’s certification and eventual commercial operation. The flights were conducted as part of the ongoing certification program to validate the MC-21’s performance characteristics. These results confirm the aircraft meets specified range requirements. The MC-21 is intended to modernize Russia’s civil aviation fleet and compete with similar aircraft in the global market. Further testing and certification processes are expected before the aircraft enters service.
