Researchers investigated the activity of nearly 10,000 accounts known for spreading Russian propaganda and disinformation. The study focused on changes following the shutdown of Yandex data centers. Surprisingly, the analysis revealed no statistically significant decrease in the activity of these accounts. This indicates that efforts to disrupt Russian disinformation efforts by targeting Yandex infrastructure have not yet been successful. Researchers had hoped to see a reduction in the volume of propaganda disseminated. The findings suggest that the networks spreading disinformation have adapted and found alternative methods to continue their operations. This resilience raises concerns about the ongoing effectiveness of current countermeasures against Russian disinformation. The analysis was conducted to assess the impact of the Yandex data center removal on the scale of the problem.
