Ukraine claims to have “fire control” over Donetsk Airport, however, recent satellite imagery reveals Russia is actively expanding launch pads at the location. The construction is focused on accommodating Russia’s Geran-3 drones, also known as Shahed drones, which are jet-powered. This development suggests continued Russian activity and reinforcement of capabilities in the contested region. The imagery contradicts Ukraine's assertion of control and indicates a potential increase in drone attacks. These findings underscore the ongoing conflict and Russia’s efforts to maintain a strategic foothold in eastern Ukraine. The expansion of drone infrastructure highlights a shift in battlefield tactics and reliance on unmanned aerial systems.
