Officials and employees of rural electricity associations have announced a unique protest program to oppose long-standing discrimination and deprivation. Instead of traditional strikes, participants have decided to work one additional hour every day. According to the Bangladesh Rural Electricity Association (BAPBA), the initiative will run from June 14 to June 30. Approximately 46,000 staff members across 80 rural electricity associations nationwide are expected to join the movement. This unconventional approach aims to highlight their grievances while continuing their professional duties. The association believes this method will draw attention to the systemic inequalities faced by the workforce.
