A Romanian student, Andrei Nemțisor from Iași, secured a gold medal with a perfect score at the 2026 Balkan Junior Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO). Nemțisor, an eighth-grade student at the “Costache Negruzzi” National College, demonstrated exceptional mathematical ability at the international competition. This victory contributed to Romania’s overall success, achieving first place in the competition. The Romanian team collectively won 12 medals at the Olympiad, highlighting the country’s strong performance in mathematics.
