Romanian President Nicușor Dan has nominated Adrian Veștea, a member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), to form a new government. This follows the resignation of previous nominee Eugen Tomac, a Member of the European Parliament, who was unable to secure sufficient parliamentary support. Veștea, aged 52, currently serves as first vice-president of the PNL, led by dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. He previously held the position of Minister of Development. The nomination initiates a new attempt to establish a functioning government following recent political instability. Veștea now faces the challenge of securing a vote of confidence in Parliament to officially assume the premiership. His success hinges on building a coalition capable of commanding a majority in the legislature.
