Romanian President Nicușor Dan, speaking in Kyiv, explained the country's reluctance to disclose details of its aid to Ukraine. He stated that the decision to keep the assistance classified stems from its military implications. Dan suggested that, in certain instances, maintaining secrecy is a matter of national security and serves a strategic purpose. He alluded to a “military component” influencing the decision, implying public disclosure could compromise ongoing efforts. This explanation came after being directly questioned about why Romania hasn’t publicly detailed the extent of its support. The President made these remarks following his participation in the Ukraine – South-Eastern Europe Summit held in Kyiv. He further emphasized that sometimes, keeping assistance details confidential is the most effective course of action.
