Alina Totti, a Romanian-born journalist, was elected to the Eindhoven local council in the Netherlands this April. She ran on the list of D66, a political party affiliated with Romania’s USR. Totti has lived in the Netherlands for seven years, having previously studied in the UK and Finland. She was elected in municipal elections held in March 2026. Totti, originally from Bucharest, has praised the efficiency and respectful environment of Dutch political meetings, noting their concise agendas and punctuality. She also highlighted being treated with respect as a woman in her new role.
