Negotiations between designated Prime Minister Adrian Veștea and the far-right AUR party have been described as “constructive,” according to Liberal Senator Sorin Cîmpeanu, nominated for the Defense Ministry. Cîmpeanu stated both sides acknowledged Romania’s need for a stable government. The talks did not involve discussions regarding ministerial positions, suggesting a focus on broader political alignment. Veștea’s government formation relies on securing AUR’s parliamentary support, as no other clear coalition path currently exists. Cîmpeanu expressed hope that AUR will demonstrate “responsible” behavior by voting in favor of the proposed government. The outcome of this support will be crucial for Romania’s political stability in the coming months.
