Egis România has been selected as the designer for a second bridge connecting Giurgiu, Romania, to Ruse, Bulgaria, across the Danube River. The company won the tender with a bid of 50.04 million lei (excluding VAT). CNAIR Director General Cristian Pistol announced the win, stating Egis România will have 23 months, starting from contract signing, to complete the feasibility study. The project is being funded by non-reimbursable European funds. This new bridge aims to improve infrastructure and connectivity between Romania and Bulgaria. The contract award marks a significant step forward in the development of this crucial transportation link. The feasibility study will lay the groundwork for the bridge’s construction.
